Contact sheets | a sample

contact sheet
I thought I’d share three contact sheets. A “succesful” one, a “nope, I’ve not quite got it yet” one,  and a sudden “hmm maybe there’s a new angle somewhere in here” one.

(the difference in color between individual images is due to the fact that I only post process images that pass “first edit”)

Not that I can really see anything on these tiny tiny thumbnails (must be of the little finger ;) ), but I do get the idea, thanks for sharing.. detecting that you take more frames of a scene than me..

      hey eva!

yes I can get stubborn around a scene, especially if I can’t get it right the first time :-)

But it is important that you stick with the scene until you get the image you see happening… sometimes you get it fairly quickly, but usually it goes like contact sheet #2…

Yep, I shold probably shoot more.. though with film it’s a bit different, can’t check if I’ve ‘got it’.. what I also find interesting here, esp. in the 3rd sheet, is the postporcessing, nice to see the pics ‘transformed’, thanks!

    Thanks for the insight! Really!
Makes me curious what post processing you usually do?

      Hey Jerome,

Every project has a different post processing. I use Lightroom for the general “tone”, and finish off in Photoshop.

      Cheers!

What do you do in photoshop to finish it? some masking and filtering? or do you do more?

I use lightroom myself most of the stuff never touches photoshop. But my workflow is not yet as developed as yours.

    thanks,

Brilliant work. Do you shoot film often or not at all? especially for the Yakuza project?
