Hey Anton, is that my copy being proof read in the photos above or is it Eva’s? You must be really excited to see the work of years coming to fruition. It all looks good: I’m ready to buy.

    Mike! Eva!

    :-)))

both your copies are safe and secure… no worries :-)

Yes bottom left is the approval of a sheet, or the “B.A.T” as they sometimes still call it over here (an old left-over abbreviation from the days that everything was french, “Bon à Tirer” or “Good to go ahead”)

Every time new printing plates are put on the press for a 16 page section of the book, the printer checks the colors and the density of the ink, makes necessary adjustments for the paper, and sees to it that the press gets up to color. As soon as that happens, he pulls out one more sheet, which we inspect together, and then gets stamped and signed by me for approval… and as soon as I have done that he presses the “go” for that section…. no signature, no go…

I can tell you I happily signed those 14 sheets that day :o)

    Hi AK,
I’m a huge fan of your works. Recently Im crazy about your work ODO YAKUZA TOKYO and I really want to purchase 1 copy. But here is the thing, I lived in China. I was wondering if there is way I can order it from China? How to do this? Anyway, the more specific information, the better. Plz do me a favor, when you post your answer email me as well. Thx!

Thx for your reply, Anton. I check the link above, they do ship to china. But I still have quetion about the chinese customs. sometimes they just detain lots of foreign publications because they consider that those are “inappropriate” publications in china. they dont care about if it is a legal publication oversea. So Im just wondering if u had any order on 1st edition from china before, and did they get their book smoothly? if that so im going to get 1 right away. but if not, i will think about that let my friend in the U.S. to order 1 and bring me personally.

      Dear Yunni,

I have checked, with the limited edition I had no sales in China. So I cannot tell you for sure if it will work with the customs!

      I hope this helps…

      cheers,
      a
